This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day: Between allegedly inviting him to her birthday party, and probably collaborating with him on a “Birthday Cake” remix, and irrefutably thanking him for wishing her a happy birthday, I think it may be high time Rihanna re-read the police report from the night Chris Brown beat her half to death. 

Particularly this part:

Brown did not know what she did with the [car] key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.’s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness.

She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her.

You nearly died that night, Rihanna. You nearly died that night. 

“I’m going to beat the sh*t out of you when we get home,” he promised. You attempted to call for help and that just made him angrier. “Now I’m really going to kill you,” he vowed.

Any of this ringing a bell? Because I’ll never forget that night. I’ll never forget the horrific photos. I’ll never forget reading the terrifying police report.

And I’ll never forgive you for forgiving him.

you’ll never forgive her for forgiving him? fuck you! this is not about you. do you have any idea the kind of pressure that has probably been placed on her to forgive him? her friends? family? management? label? fans? antis? for every person telling her to be ~strong~ and not forgive him, i bet you there were at least 2 people telling her to get the fuck over it and act like it’s water under the bridge

and maybe she came to this conclusion on her own, we never know. maybe she wants to put this behind her. maybe she forgave him. forgiveness is a very personal thing. her forgiveness has nothing to do with you. her forgiving chris brown does not mean anyone else has to forgive their abuser.

by telling a woman who has been abused and controlled what she should and should not do, CONGRATS, you have taken away her choice much in the same way her abuser did. love and support them no matter what they decide. promise to be a safe person for them. do not tell them what the fuck to do about their abuse or their feelings about their abuser

it takes an average of 7 times for someone to leave their abuser. for all we know, this was the first time chris brown did this shit and rihanna got out the first time. but i still think it needs to be said because people are judgemental as fuck about this. if someone you know is being abused, don’t try to force them into leaving. that shit takes careful planning. women who have been abused are at the highest risk for being murdered right after they leave their abuser. bear that in mind the next time you want to get all victim blamey about someone staying with their abuser or forgiving them after they leave
